Certified Prosthetist, Clinical Manager
Ryan Filippis is a Certified Prosthetist and has been working in the O&P field since 2004. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, Ryan attended Northwestern University (NUPOC) to complete his post-graduate degree in prosthetics. In 2010 he was certified by the American Board for Certification (ABC) in prosthetics. Ryan has been working for Wright & Filippis since 2000 and is the Clinical Manager of the Rochester Hills Office. Ryan is a lower extremity specialist with experience in hydraulic and microprocessor ankles as well as elevated vacuum suction systems. He has certification in the Rheo, Plie, and Cleg microprocessor knees. Ryan also utilizes the Omega Scanner and CAD CAM design in his daily practice.
Ryan has spent time on the Board of Directors for the Athletes with Disabilities Network (ADN) and assists in the planning of the Extremity Games. He has had the unique opportunity to grow up in the industry and is now a third generation prosthetist. “Working with the patients and their families is self-gratifying and makes each day special. There is nothing quite like providing that first prosthesis to a patient and having them walk for the first time in front of their family. Each patient has a story and I get to be a small part of it,” Ryan states.
